We order from here once a week since they opened, it's absolutely true home desi cooking. Everything is beautiful and plentiful. This is the first time we've ordered shrimp dishes, though, and for 14$ to only get 6 shrimp was very disappointing. Sometimes the lamb dishes are like that too, but not often. Of course we'll order again and again, but that made us a little sad.
Food was delivered way earlier than the estimated time, I would say under 20 minutes from when I placed the order, which is amazing. Just because it got here quick doesn't mean it wasn't fresh, this was possibly the best Chicken Tikka I've ever had and the Samosas were on point too! Bonus points for the coconut naan!
Delicious, we love it, we ordered on line based on reviews and what a great choice it was, we have a treenut allergy and they immediately called me to inquire on these allergies, great customer service, the food was great, hot, great portion, recommend it. will definite eat from there again, thank you .
Plenty of options, quick delivery, food was still hot. I got the vegetable samosas which were excellent! They were hot and crispy on the outside. I got the chicken biryani which had excellent seasoning and wasnt spicy. Plenty of sauces came in the bag as well. Will order from here again!
Delivery is suuuper quick from here and the food is on point. They'll probably with you if you have any allergies too. I've enjoyed the butternut squash soup, aloo gobi, saag, and the cauliflower appetizer that tastes like general tso. Everything is delicious. This place is solid!

I've ordered from Yaar several times (per week, lol). I can't recommend them highly enough.
The curries are delicate and complex, not simply full of that familiar indian curry powered. The flavors are hearty and fresh, and the meat is tender and well-seasoned.
If you're even considering ordering form Yaar, just do it. You won't regret it, and you won't regret having leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Be warned: their portions are as generous as the people who make them.
Thank you, Yaar!
Wow! I ordered at 8 pm and it was delivered at 8:14. The food was amazing. In fact, I ate an entree, a side of rice, and naan, entirely, while standing at my table... It's a bit spicier than some other Indian restaurants in Astoria, but I enjoyed that. The only time I walked away from my food was to grab a beer from the fridge (IPA, perfect) and to clutch my chest in disbelief at how good the food was. I am genuinely impressed and will order from here regularly!
When asked, "What do you want to eat," Indian food has never been the first thing to pop into mind... until I found Yaar. This place offers great food, good to the point where it has found a spot in my regular Seamless rotation. I literally can't get enough of the butter chicken - especially considering my wife always steals it before I can scarf it down. Definitely worth a try for anyone on the fence.
First time ordering from Yaar, based on other reviews and I'm glad I did. Fast, accurate delivery. But most importantly, the food was delicious! Wonderful, nuanced flavors-a cut above other local Indian restaurants. Also, slightly different items on the menu that I haven't seen before (like cilantro naan among others). Can't wait to order from them again and try other things.
We just ordered again: 16 minutes from order placement to my door (0.5 miles from restaurant). 16 minutes!? That is crazy efficient!
Butter chicken: amazing.
Chicken samosas: amazing! Try it with both chutneys (red and green--this is how they serve it at their restaurant).
Garlic naan: super solid.
They are so fast, efficient, and delicious. Would give 6 stars if I could.
